Debut novel: Beyond the Lake

It's 1920, and Iris Woodmore returns to the familiar surroundings of her hometown only to find it on the brink of change following the aftermath of the Great War.

This is the first in a series of historical crime fiction novels that follow the maturation of lead character, Iris, as she navigates the confines imposed by society on women during the interwar years.

As a trustee of a conservation charity, I spend my free time volunteering at my local nature reserve, Fleet Pond, the largest freshwater lake in Hampshire. The setting of Beyond the Lake is loosely based on Fleet Pond and the town of Fleet.

I'm currently seeking representation for Beyond the Lake and working on the second novel in this series.
